About

I have always been facinated by astronomy and all things space related. However it wasn’t until recent years that I decided to specialise my artistic skills and focus purely on producing astronomical art.
My main aim with my paintings is to produce the greatest degree of accuracy I can possibly achieve and allow my imagination and scientific understanding to ‘fill in the gaps’ so to say. Most of my paintings (perticularly work featuring objects within our solar system) are composed with accurate possitions of celestial bodies such as planets and moons with in some cases the precise possitioning of every star in the field.
All my astronomical work is produced in Photoshop although most pieces start out as a pencil sketch. I use vast amounts of reference material ranging from celestial images from telescopes and probes to geological and landscape photography of suitable terrain here on Earth.
I hope that my current paintings and the work to come will bring inspiration to all who view and help those who wander about distant worlds feel a little closer to them.
